Face, Neck, Brow & Eye Lifts

Skin loses elasticity as we age. The skin stretches and begins to sag, especially along the jowl line, in the neck, and under the chin. Bags may form under the eyes, creating a tired look. Lines on the brow and around the mouth grow deeper and can create an angry or cross appearance. Through various facial procedures, we can address individual problem areas, or “lift” the entire face and neck.

Blepharoplasty (Eyelids)
Sagging upper eyelids and bags under the eyes create a pulled-down appearance. In this procedure, excess skin and fat are removed from the upper lids and the bags are removed from the lower lids. The result opens up the eye area, creating a brighter, younger appearance. The removed fat is sometimes harvested or transferred to soften sharp lines or bony prominences on the face.

Brow Lift
A drooping, furrowed brow gives the entire face a pulled-down look. Raising the brow smoothes out the furrows and also lifts the frown lines that form above the nose. This procedure has several options for incisions. They may be hidden behind the hairline or in the upper eyelid, or the procedure may be done endoscopically through a small tube. This procedure can also correct asymmetries in the brows.

Cheek Lift
A related procedure is a subperiosteal cheek lift, which is performed through the lower eyelids and sometimes through the inside of the mouth. With age, the soft tissue of the cheek begins to descend, causing the eyes to look hollow and gaunt. Lifting this area restores more youthful fullness in this area. This procedure also reduces the depth of the nasolabial folds, giving a rejuvenated appearance across the nose and cheek area. This procedure may be performed alone or with a conventional facelift. Also, a new endoscopic technology is now allowing for this to be done with small incisions in the scalp and the placement of absorbable anchors that lift the cheek from afar. This reduces the operative time and complexity.

In a conventional facelift, excess skin is removed from the face and neck and the skin is tightened to create cleaner, sharper lines, resulting in a more rested, youthful look. The incisions are hidden under the hairline, behind the ear and in natural creases. The extent of the lift and the precise number and location of incisions will vary with each patient’s needs. A facelift includes the neck. Necklifts are sometimes done by themselves, but because the whole face ages, it is often better to address the whole face with a full facelift.

Non-surgical Facial Rejuvenation
We have many options for non-surgical treatments or minor procedures that can be carried out in the office setting.
